What do you do when the world is talking about a leaked video of your family fighting. Easy, you leak another family video for the world to talk about.
The Carter Family is currently giving a lesson in public relations. Their message is simple, forget about “Solange Gone Wild” and instead focus on the two members of the family that you actually care about (well 3 really, Blue Ivy too, but still…)
I’m gonna guess, this video was set to come out in a week or so in the hopes of going viral and adding a little more buzz to the “Pop Culture Royal Couple’s” upcoming tour. But instead Solange’s fight tape went viral (which part of me is still waiting to be revealed as another Jimmy Kimmel prank)
The Power couple tried to play it cool, as if this elevator story would just go away on its own. But it didn’t. So I think, they moved up the release date of their promo video. And what a video it is.
This full action 3:45 “fake movie” trailer appears to have a bigger budget than Million Dollar Arm and Neighbours combined. And while you can argue the budget, you can’t argue with the star power. King Hov and Queen Bey called up some of their famous friends like Sean Penn, Don Cheadle and Jake Gyllenhaal to make appearances. I guess this explains Gyllenhaal’s court side seat at the Nets/Heat game the other night, right? But wait a second here, are we supposed to believe that Blake Lively and Beyonce are friends even in this fake movie trailer? She’s dope as hell, but this is pretty much Lively’s biggest role since Gossip Girl isn’t it? I mean couldn’t that role have EASILY have gone to Solange? I’m sure here schedule is clear and I mean it is Beyonce’s sister right?
Then again, remember the very first line in the video when Jay Z is sitting at the table with Sean Penn:
“I just remember this one time you told me, when the shit gets bigger than the cat, get rid of the cat. I didn’t know what the fuck you were talking about until right now”
With all the rumours about Jay dropping Solange from his Roc Nation label, this is too funny…
As always, just my thoughts. Right or wrong, just what I’m feeling at the time.
